Someone once told me that Almond Butter was better for a person than peanut butter. I shook my head and thought how is that possible when peanut butter brings us so many wonderful things.
Where would the world be without peanut butter cups, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or peanut butter cookies…mmm. And I can’t be the only one that loves when a fresh jar of peanut butter is opened and I get to take the first dip into the smooth top.
So I set out to do my own research and what did I find you might ask?
The answer is that Almond Butter is slightly better for you than peanut butter is, that’s it, Almond Butter has less saturated fat (by 2 grams per serving) and it has 169% more vitamin E. Both nut butters are great the key is making sure you pick a good brand of peanut butter as most have a lot of fat, sugar and salt added to it.
If you have ever wanted to go out and try Almond Butter you will quickly find that it has a bit of a hefty price tag, I don’t like spending money on items that I can make cheaper myself so I used the power of ‘google’ and found out how to make my own Almond Butter for almost half the price of store bought and I think I like it better simply because I made it myself.
I will now pass on this knowledge to you in case you ever want to try to make this nut butter in the comfort of your own home.
Okay, I confess there is a fantastic blog post about this out there already, with pictures and everything. Click HERE to see the blog.
