Fish Oil and Its Anti-Inflammatory Effect

Hey, its me Liz! I wanted to tell you about my experience using fish oil as an anti-inflammatory.

I have heard about the importance of taking fish oil for a long time and in July of 2010 I started to take Nordic Naturals Pro-Omegafish oil for overall health and wellness.

In September of 2010 I heard about the effect that Fish Oil (Omega 3 Fatty Acids) can have on acute and chronic inflammation and I decided to try it out on an old problem I had.

I have had chronic shoulder pain for the last 7 years; I wish I had a cool story to tell about how the pain started like I got tackled just as I threw the winning pass in a football game, or I injuried it saving a child from certain death. But alas I just woke up one night and couldn’t move it and that is when the pain started and it’s never stopped. I learned to live with the pain but it was frustrating, I didn’t have good range of motion, the pain could go from dull to throbbing and I couldn’t lift my niece and nephews without discomfort.

I decided to give fish oil a chance; to see if it could help with the chronic inflammation in my shoulder and if that would reduce or get rid of the pain that I felt.So I started taking ProEPA which is a product designed specifically for using fish oil to reduce inflammation. In a month I had no pain in my shoulder which means that the inflammation in my body was down.I wondered if the results would last, but here I am one year and four months later and I am still pain free 95% of the time. The times when I do feel pain is usually a weather change (lots of scar tissue) or when I overuse my arm. But going from pain 99% of the time to only 5% of the time, that is A okay for me.

I can now pick up my niece and nephews with no pain, I have full range of motion in my arm for the first time in 7 years, I don’t have to think about the pain anymore and my body isn’t inflammed which means my joints are healthier.
Fish oil helps with any disease or problem in the body that is caused from excess inflammation. That is why it is good for the heart, lungs, joints etc.Fish oil isn’t a cure (we have to say that) and it isn’t a cure all but it can help and for those who struggle with inflammation it is worth a shot, it is a lot healthier then downing anti-inflammatory drugs all the time. Check out the video on our website about the importance of fish oil and see if it is something you should try out in your own life.
